Liverpool FC would like to remind fans using Wirral Line rail services to travel to Anfield on a matchday that this service will be affected for the remainder of the 2016-17 season.

This is due to the Wirral loop line track renewal taking place from Tuesday January 3 to Sunday June 18. Services on the Northern Line will not be impacted.

Fans should be aware that alternative services will be busier than normal during this period and should allow extra time when travelling to Anfield.

Merseyrail will ensure that there is extra capacity on the rail replacement buses for fans travelling from Birkenhead North and Birkenhead Central to Anfield, strengthening services on matchdays to accommodate the extra demand.

Fans should allow plenty of time to get their onward connection either to the Soccerbus via the rail link to Sandhills or the 917 bus service from St John’s Lane opposite Lime Street Station.

For more information on how this will affect your journey, please visit www.merseyrail.org/trackrenewal or pick up a passenger information booklet from your nearest Merseyrail station.
