Liverpool FC Foundation, the club's official charity, will feature on BBC One's Match of the Day programme this weekend.

The segment - to be shown during the Sunday morning repeat show at 7.25am - will focus on the Premier League Works Programme, which the LFC Foundation runs in partnership with the Professional Footballers Association and the Prince’s Trust.

Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has been regularly involved in the scheme since it began in October 2016, and recently went back to visit both new and former participants taking part in a range of employability activities.

The Premier League Works programme provides young people aged 18-25 not involved in education, training or employment, with support to develop their personal and social skills, giving them the confidence and the experience they need to make a positive transition back into education, access training or gain meaningful employment.

Since LFC Foundation started the PL Works programme in October 2016:

  • Two young people gained employment at LFC and the LFC Foundation
  • Four young people secured full-time employment externally
  • One secured a traineeship externally
  • Six young people moved on to further education
