This week, 40 high school students attended a career networking event at Anfield where Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy was the guest speaker.

Pupils from local North Liverpool Academy, Alsop High School and Notre Dame Catholic College spent the afternoon meeting members of club staff, to learn about their career journeys and professional backgrounds.

Kennedy met with the youngsters and gave a motivational talk about how a combination of ambition, dedication and determination helped him to achieve his career goals as a professional footballer.

Margaret Aspinall, chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, also attended the event and spoke to the young people about important life skills.

Gayle Hall, careers coordinator at Notre Dame Catholic College, said: “These events are extremely popular with our students, who are predominantly interested in the off-pitch career opportunities that a global organisation like LFC can provide.”

The careers event was delivered by the club's community programme, Red Neighbours, which is dedicated to supporting local residents and schools in the Anfield area.
