Liverpool's pursuit of Piotr Zielinski has received a boost after it was revealed a move to Anfield is his first choice.

The Reds are just one of a number of clubs hoping to land the gifted Poland international this summer, with Udinese seemingly ready to cash in.

Serie A runners-up Napoli were another of his admirers and they appeared to be closing in on his capture when they agreed a fee to sign him this summer.

However, according to sources in Italy, Zielinski is holding out for a move to Liverpool, while AC Milan are his second choice.

The 22-year-old's agent is said to have met with Napoli officials and informed them of his client's wishes.

It has been suggested that he will only consider Napoli if he fails to secure a switch to either of those clubs, which could tempt Liverpool to step up their bid to sign him.
