Liverpool have joined Juventus in the race to sign Real Madrid defender Danilo, according to reports.

Jurgen Klopp looks set to overhaul his squad in the summer and has pinpointed the right-back position as a key area for improvement at Liverpool.

Nathaniel Clyne has been impressive for the Reds on the flank but Klopp is keen to provide him with competition.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claim Klopp is a big fan of Danilo and could make a move for him in the summer as he bids to add fresh faces to his squad ahead of next season.

Danilo, who signed for Real from Porto last summer, has struggled to nail down a starting spot at the Bernabeu - making just nine La Liga appearances.

But it is claimed Real will be willing to offload the Brazil international if they receive a bid in the region of £21million.

However, Liverpool will face competition from Juventus for his signature with the Serie A giants keen to replace the ageing pair of Dani Alves and Stephan Lichtsteiner.
