Virgil van Dijk has decided he wants a summer move to Liverpool ahead of Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Dutch centre-back has been mulling over numerous lucrative options since the end of the season, and has picked Anfield as his favoured destination should Southampton agree to sell him.

However, a deal is far from close despite Van Dijk's hopes and intentions.

It remains to be seen how much Southampton will demand for the defender – or how much they are prepared to resist any bids – so there is a lot of work to be done before any deal can progress for the 25-year-old.
